Donavan could be our first signing where his current club is bothered sbout seeing him let go.

Seems to have some attributes Orsi lacked, can hold the ball up, strong and pace to run behind. Better goal scoring record than Orsi had at Grimsbey so if someone can teach him to put the ball in the nett may work. Got 4 in 7 when he came into their team in Sept.

He will need a high work rate as that was Orsi's attribute and vital to our style of play.

Like to think we will have more than one striker this year mind.

Interesting the way it's going Grimsbey are going to find out how their team from last year would have faired in League 1

Looked at our normal places to buy. None of Grimsby, Swindon or Gillingham have a third keeper for sale, apart from youth team. We will need to look elsewhere.Would not be surprised if they get one in on loan from Championship or Premier League like they have done in previous years.

Agree goalkeeper and two strikers should be our priority. We have left getting a striker late last two transfer deadlines and missing getting one both times. We also can't go into pre-season friendlies with just one keeper. Crawley seem to have a habit  under Wagmi of letting keepers go without a replacement, as we have just had one keeper on the books a number of times.

Am really not sure what's going on down there at the moment. Having dismantled the majority of our promotion winning team ( which was a ridiculous decision for which the consequences still have to play out) you would at least have thought someone would ha e the foresight to have replacements lined up.

We are still seven or eight players short and those seven or eight players need to be decent not none league squad fillers.

Looks like a new signing to be announced at 18.00 possibly.

By my recoking Preston has about 1.5m pounds left of the amount he said we would spend on playing budget this year. Hopefully a signature to excite the fans.

We had a squad of 26 last year and a budget of 1.75m. We are 4 weeks out from the start of the season .A whole new team to build (as the owners destroyed the promotion winning team) and we have 20 players signed, no strikers no goal keeper and 50 percent of the squad have less than 30 league games between them.

If Prestons published interviews are to be believed we have an extra 1.25m for players this year on top of last years 1.75m budget. Get your fingers out and sign some League 1 players .

You have screwed the team letting it disintegrate don't add oil to burning waters by leaving it to the last minute to bring players in. Four weeks until our first game ...get moving !

Agree holmesy and welcome to forum. As you say really need an experienced goalkeeper and striker urgently to give Scott time to assess and train them the way he wants to play. First friendly Tuesday, and I expect we will have a couple of trialists playing, coming on as subs.
