I am expecting there to be an initial increase in average attendances due to the Wembley factor.Whether these new fans continue to come will depend on results, but with more bigger and southern teams I think away support at Crawley will probably be higher this season anyway.

Nailed on for relegation the season just gone, and we got promoted to L1. So don't pay any attention to any predictions, they haven't got a clue, especially bookies.
Bookies know nothing about the lower leagues - they don't care as they make most of their money from the top two leagues.
At the start of each season, the odds reflect two criteria- the previous year's league position (plus their own subjective view) and the money placed on teams. At the moment, even small amounts of bets placed on teams like Crawley will have a huge impact on the odds.
If we keep the coach and and retain 70 percent of our players and sign 6 or 8 decent players we have fighting chance of staying up. It will be very tough but I think Lindsey is absoloutley key. If he goes it will be rebuild and relegation.
According to the below, we had one of five lowest budgets last season of £1.75m. However, our playing squad was much smaller than most other sides (only us, Barrow and Tranmere had a squad of 31 or less (everyone else had a squad of 40-60). Not having a reserve or youth team enabled us to pay more competitive salaries per player than if we had a bigger squad.
Looking at League One most clubs had a budget of £3.5m+, and again much bigger squads. The teams that got relegated all had the smaller budgets, mainly under £3.5m, but bigger squads than us.
Expectations? Promotion guaranteed by early March, Title secured at Easter. SL heavily linked with the Man City job when Pep announces his shock retirement. 🤪
Joking aside, I “expect” a tough season with more defeats than wins, and attendances at Broadfield Stadium to increase.

With tougher opposition, I am hoping for a few more draws than last season. I know Scott always likes to go for a win whatever the opposition, but I would be happy for them to settle for a draw against some of the better sides rather than lose an exciting possession based game.

Im sure SL first target is enough points to stay up and at times we'll see out a draw especially playing away.
The first time I heard (read it) was in the programme notes away at Willingall Town. They called it " the race to 50 points'.
You have to get to 50 points. If you got there early your going for the title. If you got there late you struggling against relegation. If you don't get there you're in a relegation dog fight.

Yet we, and one other team, both went down from League 1 while on 50 points a few years ago.
