The first time I heard (read it) was in the programme notes away at Willingall Town. They called it " the race to 50 points'.
You have to get to 50 points. If you got there early your going for the title. If you got there late you struggling against relegation. If you don't get there you're in a relegation dog fight.

Yet we, and one other team, both went down from League 1 while on 50 points a few years ago.
Yes it was 2014/15. Notts County were the other team to go down on 50 points. I believe we went down as we lost 2-1 at home to Coventry on the last day of the season. Not a good day.
In 2012/13 Wolves and Peterborough were relegated from the Chamionship with 51 and 54 respectively. Unusual but it can happen!
Last year when we replaced our experienced players with untried youngsters we are favourites for relegation with a lot of people (including myself) but we ended up being promoted.
This year we have so far lost 5 of our promotion heroes (I include Ransom here) and are likely to lose two more (Gordon and Gladwin) and again replaced them with youngsters from Non-league, so again not looking good at moment.
Main concern is we have lost most of our defence, but we did concede too many last season, so it gives us a reason to concentrate on this area, as other areas not too bad at moment.
Still 6 weeks till season starts so will reserve full view until then and hope we get some good signings and Scott can mould together a good team again. Biggest worry is Scott and his team leaving, as don't think many managers could have done as well as he has with the budget he has.
