Very disappointed today, nadesian offered nothing which was the most disappointing thing, are we a one man team ? Possibly.... Having a good away form won't bring the punters in the door which is what we need....ref? No issue today so what was yemms issue ? Hope for the life of me we didn't decide to rest nichols because if we did that has ended our season, why can't we be honest like other teams and let us know whats going on with injuries etc
I think Yems was having a go at the refs weight, TBH kettle black and all that. It was an awful performance and what Yems says about he picks the times, however it is his tactics and today they were hopeless. I think he has lost he dressing room. The Yems and Ferry incident was not a good advert for football and Yems completely misses the fact that the vast majority of Crawley fans do not go away I've only been to two all season we see home matches mostly. Get a grip John.
How can he have lost the dressing room when we won only 4 days earlier?
We’re struggling to make that transition from midfield into the strikers and they can’t get involved in the game. Been the same at home for a while. I’d like to see the midfield have more confidence in the front boys and give it to their feet. I know they are not typical ‘back-to-goal’ players but think we need to do it to get the ball to stick further up.
Usually I don’t mind that John wears his heart on his sleeve but was a bit too much today. I think he forgets that most fans don’t/can’t travel so of course there will be groans when we’ve lost to Tranmere, thrown away a win against Stevenage and not turned up today.
Overall, just a shit day. On to next week!
That's why I think Yems will benefit a lot from having a calmer head alongside him who's not afraid to say when things are going too far. Not saying we should get rid of Bradbury but having an additional assistant could be hugely beneficial, you see quite a few clubs have more than one assistant manager these days
can we afford another? I doubt it would make much difference John Yems is who he is and I doubt anyone would significantly change that.

That's a big IF though to be honest, but it could be a good investment if we have the available funds just to add something different, especially if it's a young, dynamic guy
All depends on how many players who we don't want we're able to get rid of and it should also take into account the costs of any new players coming in.
Yems seems to have a weird obsession with referees though which isn't healthy, he needs to tone it down otherwise he'll keep getting in trouble. You'd have thought after listening to him today that the ref conspired against us or something
I see the Yems Disciples are out in force again tonight. He can do no wrong in their eyes and/or he has a few drinking buddies on this Forum. Well he does plenty wrong as a Manager. Only his Scouting Abilities are saving him at the moment. Let Yems be the Head Scout and let my Mother be the Manager and I guarantee you all we would be higher than 12th place right NOW!
so easy to be critical but we are what we are - a mi table team aspiring to improve yes awful game, awful performance but it happens He accepted blame and I'd rather him in charge than all of the previous managers except Evans but not sure what skills your mother might bring to the party that a professional like Yems already has in abundance

yes he can be obsessed by the ref which isn't healthy but unsure if any extra staff would help

Nichols told me after the game he just had a knock but he's hoping to be back next week. The ref didn't really had to make any big decisions but as I said earlier he did miss quite a few clear fouls in my opinion. But when the standard of refereeing in the Premier League is so poor you're unlikely to get brilliant refs down here too. I probably wouldn't have bothered talking about him if I was the manager though as I'd be more concerned about the passing and lack of creativity going forward.
Nadesan was poor today unfortunately and to be honest I think it might be best for both him and the club if he moves on this summer (as he's out of contract). I think he clearly wants to be the no.1 striker but with Nichols and Appiah around he won't get that and I just feel that he could do with a change of scenery to get himself going again
Thin you might be right here Steve - full credit for effort but not hitting standard expected often enough
No disrespect to Hartlepool meant here but they are an average side but gave us a lesson in how to play today. Simple passing, looking forward, movement off the ball (especially after you pass it) solid defenders and a centre forward who could hold onto the ball when it was passed to him.
Our passing was terrible all game. The players stood and admired nearly every pass they gave and I didn't see us pass the ball to Nadesan's or Oteh's feet all game.
Their centre forward is a handful and Craig and Tunnicliffe were struggling with him all game but there was no help in front of them. Did we play with a screening midfielder? Did he bring a deckchair? Stop the ball going to his feet for gawds sake!
Yems getting a red just so he can open his gob. Stupid!
Poor display from us.

I think we are probably around a similar level to Hartlepool, Harrogate and most of the teams in this division to be honest at this moment in time. They all would probably be thinking 'if we were more consistent we would definitely be up there'
Yems' behaviour was pretty poor today tbh and the whole Ferry thing was odd. If he'd waited until half time before dealing with it then he probably wouldn't have been booed at the end
I think Yems was right to make the call re Ferry - you cant have dissent from players openly shown in such a way.
Totally agree. I thought this might be the occasion to build upon on a decent run of form and really dominate a team at home. Wrong. Players seemed unsettled after the Ferry substitution and we looked all over the place for the rest of the half, after a really good first 5 mins.
Only positives I would take are some neat link-up play on the left between Tsaroulla and Hutchinson, and Powell worked hard all game.
Ultimately another deflating home performance though.
Tsaroulla was the only player I thought could say they had a good game today. Morris was OK and Hutchinson did alright when he came on but other than that everyone else was average to very poor
I'm not sure I even saw that Steve, I'd rate them all a max of 5 out of 10
Not a drinking buddy and I think a lot went wrong today, some of it down to Yems, some of it down to our recruitment, some of it down to the players but one thing I've never seen is a manager get back chat and not bench the player. I would have left it to half time but Will Ferry would be sitting out a few games and I bet the coaches at Southampton will be chatting to the club and the player about it. Not good from either of them.

He also had a pop at the ref and the fans.
Maybe - agree ref wasn't great but he didn't lose us the game but don't think he was out there about the fans - perspective is needed

Agree Jim but do think his timing was ok - no need to wait

That's why I don't think we're ready to get promotion or anything yet, things do take time and I'd happily wait for another year or two before going up as we don't really want to just about squeak in and then look hopelessly out of depth in the higher division. Luckily enough we're in a better state on and off the pitch today than we were 3-5 years ago when pretty much just staying up was decent enough considering how poor the squad and transfers were during that period (as well as having dreadful managers like Harry Kewell). Plus at the moment the only realistic alternatives to Yems that would want to come to us would be the Westley, Evans and Curle types who we need to steer well clear of if we're serious about improving the club in the long term
Getting a new coach in was just an idea of mine to maybe help out with some parts that need working, but if it's not financially feasible then it's not the end of the world
