On 6 November 1965 Millwall beat west London club Brentford 2–1 away at Griffin Park and during the game a hand grenade was thrown onto the pitch from the Millwall end. Brentford's goalkeeper Chic Brodie picked it up, inspected it and threw it into his goal. It was later retrieved by police and determined to be a harmless dummy. There was fighting inside and outside the ground during the game between both sets of supporters, with one Millwall fan sustaining a broken jaw. The Sun newspaper ran the sensationalist grenade-related headline "Soccer Marches to War!"[10][11] Trouble was reported at Loftus Road on 26 March 1966 during a match between Queens Park Rangers and Millwall, at a time when both sides were near the top of the league table pushing for promotion to Division Two, but the London derby was won 6–1 by QPR. In the second-half, a coin was thrown from the terraces, which struck Millwall player Len Julians on the head, drawing blood. The stadium announcer warned that the game would be abandoned if there were any more disturbances from the crowd, prompting some Millwall fans to invade the pitch in an unsuccessful attempt to get the game abandoned.[12] When Millwall's unbeaten home record of 59 games came to an end against Plymouth Argyle in 1967, the windows of the away team's coach were smashed. In the same year, a referee was attacked and the FA ordered the club to erect fences around The Den's terracing.[4]
Ferry thought he should have had a foul and was on the floor. Pool player left in loads of space because he was not where he should have been. Ferry runs over and commits a deliberate, if not too bad a foul...taking the players legs out.
Yems has a explosion at Ferry and Ferry has an explosion back.
Ferry can never win this but if you scream like Yems did you have to accept it back. Hopefully they have both calmed down and apologize to each other.

Thanks for the correction, Jim; JY has said in the Press, that Ferry was in no uncertain terms warned never to mouth off at him again.
Does the Crawley Observer have a ‘Poet’s Corner?’ You could do a weekly poetic round up of Crawley Town’s matches 😂
Another thing about Bogle, his tackle wasn’t shown in the Sky highlights. Not seen the Quest ones yet but I thought he got away with one there. Obviously no intention but was a straight leg into Payne above the ankle. The sort of red card we would get all day!
I reckon it was because it was in the first 10 minutes of the game why he didn't get more than a yellow, we don't have all the slow motion replays and video refs that we get in the Premier League though so harder to tell unless you see it again a few times
I’ve just seen a picture of the tackle and it was above the knee. It should have been a red card no matter what minute of the game.

My hope is that by the time training comes around tomorrow they'll have put any differences aside and agreed to move on for the sake of everyone else in the team

Well... it is Valentines day
Would be nice but have a feeling it will be the start of something that wont end well
I would like to hear an accurate eye/ ear witness account of the confrontation between player and manager, which is so far a bit hazy in the posts so far, but it's just totally unacceptable for the player to grossly abuse the manager on the field of play, after being taken off for reckless behaviour against an opposition player.
JY was clearly trying to avoid an on pitch blow up and sending- off, but then, and it's something I have never hear of before, but it seems JY was so shocked at such gross insolence towards himself, from a player who is not even contracted , but a loanee, that he forgot himself, which was regrettable, but perhaps understandable in the heat of the circumstances.
It is a pity that the game was lost, but it's not the end of the world; I wish the serial bed-wetters on this site, and you know who you are, would get their heads straightened out, or take a permanent holiday, as one babbles repetitive off the wall rubbish and both are guilty of pushing an agenda of the worst interpretations and personal malevolence against a manager who cares about the club and is doing his best, before a rational precis of the team's performances and hopefully, a gradual overall improvement in recent form.
True supporters will just ignore these clowns and their poison pen trash; they revel in the slightest setback, as this gives them the hots for yet another opportunity for attacking club staff and players who are men of substance, unlike their detractors.
Were you sat quite near the dugout then? I must admit I didn't see what happened because of where I stood and when I saw Ferry subbed off I presumed he was injured at the time. Maybe it could have been sorted at half time but then if you're a manager and you think one of your players isn't putting the effort in or disrespecting you, would you take them off straight away too? I don't know really
Ferry clearly shouted WHAT at the bench, want sure who had said what to him but he took it badly and shouted loud and long back. No manager can accept that without losing respect and I am happy the Yems made right decision.
The relationship is further complicated by Ferry being on loan: - would he have reacted that way to the Saints bench...(?) - would he ever have cause to react that way to the Saints bench...(?)
I'm sure life will go on. These things happen in the heat of the moment, of course social media loves to make a big thing of it.
Frustrating inconsistency I must say. It has been the same with Crawley for years - great results against top teams and failure to put away those battling away near the bottom.

You're joking. Yems handled it appallingly. Screaming and swearing back at Ferry? WTAF? He is the manager. He should know better, and should set an example to the players if he expects certain standards of behaviour from them. But no, he responds the wrong way, subs Ferry immediately even though he is one of our better players. We then lost all shape, the players I think were put off their game by seeing the manager lose his shit on the touchline and throw his toys out of the pram.
It was a clumsy tackle from Ferry, but he wasn't even booked for it. Massive overreaction from Yems, who let's not forget, ended the game being sent off and having his usual incoherent rant at the referee. If he got backchat from Ferry and didn't like it, wait and sort it out at half time. Sub him off then if he felt it necessary. Try and act with a modicum of class. Yems is like Kewell - manages via his ego.

The Kewell comparison is flattering, I was thinking he was more like the infamous "Mouth of the Clyde". And Yemsy will hate even a brief cameo appearance in Evans 2.0 (The Fat & The Furious)
I suspect there is a backstory of leftovers from Tuesday night, when Ferry was also subbed early...(?) But it simply does not reflect well on any of the parties... and more importantly our club.
On the plus side, at least two people on the Crawley side, actually found something to get excited about on Saturday...!
