To be honest, most National League teams are of a very similar quality to those in L2, which is why you never see a team who's been promoted from it go straight back down the following season. The localish teams in there all have artificial pitches though (including Dorking if they win the playoff final), so not sure if we kinda want that if the new chairmen have spoken about the need to practise on natural grass. Going off topic slightly, I do think it is only a matter of time before artificial pitches are allowed in the Football League again
Lets hope not I watched a number of games in the early days that weren't football as we know it, I'm sure the technology has improved on the surface but still - grass is what should be used.

It's something that seems to be a lot more popular with owners/directors than players and coaches. Think we know why

Nothing wrong with a warm up game against Dorking or Eastbourne. They would be a decent test. However they both have 3G pitches.
I agree re artificial pitches. I personally don't like them but it is nonsense that Champions League games and World Cup qualifiers are OK while the farts at the FL block them.
Odd how the club hasn't announced these games through the website or the Twitter feed yet. My guess is that these were booked before the ownership change and I wouldn't be surprised if this and the Horsham friendly gets cancelled soon after the new manager is appointed

Not anymore they don’t. They now play at the former ground of the now defunct Whyteleafe FC. Defunct after their ground was bought from underneath them by a Singapore based group called Irama. Worth a read if you’ve got some time.
And why on earth would they be cancelled? They won’t be able to organise a full calendar of friendlies this late in the day
5 to be announced tomorrow. Preston Johnson hinted at an overseas friendly against our ‘biggest L2 rival’. Going off that stupid podcast, they are trying to create some sort of rivalry with Bradford. So maybe against them?
