We need to be playing L1 or above teams in PSFs. That will prove a test for the first team and be far more beneficial than playing local non-league teams because it's expected of us. If we played a Championship side and lost, there's no shame in that. If we lose to Sutton Common, that's hardly a great start to the KB era is it?
Yes we should play Horsham as we groundshare, and Three Bridges as it's traditional. But beyond that, send the kids to the local non-league teams (they need to actually play some matches this season) and give the first teamers a proper test.
But if we play Premier League clubs, they send a youth/academy side and everyone moans about that instead.
Try reading my post again. I didn't mention PL clubs. I said teams at a higher level than us. For example QPR. That's the level of opposition we should be playing.

As it is traditional - I will dust off my annual post about Pre-Season Friendlies:
"Gentlemen: If you are really that desperate to spend your money, in the hope of a preview glimpse of something... ...that in reality, has little relation to what you will actually be experiencing...

...why not visit a lap dance club...? "
and on a serious note having just purchased tickets for the QPR match - it is also an opportunity for players to impress the new boss and show what they can do. i think PSF will take on a new meaning in this respect and whilst yes they are not the real deal, it's as close as we can get at this stage of the season and always nice to tak in a game in the summer sunshine (hopefully)!
As both Bradford and Crawley are in Murcia (Spain) at Summer training camps over the next few days what are the chances of that being the 'overseas, big league 2 rival' game that was mentioned by Preston?
Or after reading in the other thread that a game previously arranged was cancelled, maybe this was it. We'll never know.
More interestingly “ Set to be our pre-season opener, the League Two side have opted to play elsewhere” so we’re cancelling one and scheduling another.

lets hope fans at these nearby non-league teams don't hold the cancellations against us. Not great PR but I also get the circumstances under the arrangements made and cancelled, I think!

If you saw one of Betsy's first interviews you'd fully understand the circumstances, it was pretty obvious to me he wasn't happy at all with some of the fixtures planned and wanted to rip up some of the original program (hence why the trip to Spain this week was organised instead of playing Sutton Common Rangers). Also worth noting that the club itself never announced some of these fixtures too
