What a load of ole cobblers. I mean they seemed to pass and move better and quicker 1st half. Northants first fell luckily for them, but arguably not the best reds clearance into a dangerous area. FK I think goes down to GK error didnt have the wall lined up well, then seemed to move and couldnt adjust quick enough. We scored two good passing movement goals, but ultimately threw away a lead and a draw and 1 in 12 points start to the league campaign is really poor. Saturday will be key. Get behind the lads and bounce back, otherwise I fear the worst midweek when the PL lads arrive in town.
That one hurts tonight, we played very well in the second half against a side that will be right up there at the end of the season. We outplayed them second half but they proved how important it is to be clinical in this division. Nadesan has to be the most frustrating player I can remember, the effort he had for the 1 on 1 was embarrassing, glad he laid it off a few mins later for balagizi to slot home. So many positives to take from tonight but still a lot of work to be done.
For all the good stuff from us in that game there was some bad to cancel it out. A lot sharper (at times), playing the ball a little quicker allowing us to cause problems to them. Then from about the 25th minute being scared to lose the ball and putting ourselves under pressure for no reason. Really poor defending for the first goal. That header was awful. Not sure if it was a foul for the second but we were faffing around during that period so something bad was going to happen.
Much better in the second half but we really lost the game in the first half. Saw the best and worse of Nadersan. Great set up for Balagizi, awful shot when clean through.
Betsy is actually under pressure now. Bad tactics and bad luck are a poor combination.

Well the fans at the ground weren’t putting him under pressure at the end. The owners won’t. So good luck with trying to generate some online I guess

Yep two great assists by Nadderz. Is he a clinical scorer, well that’s why we brought in Dom. I was more disappointed by Nichols than Nadderz tonight, his levels go up and down so much
Very annoying match today for totally different reasons, I thought we were desperately unlucky not to get something from there.
Nadesan getting criticism is unfair I think when he pretty much set up the 2nd goal. I think the key difference was they had one guy who is way too good for this division (Sam Hoskins) and that can make a big difference

At least we saw 90 mins football and second half allbeit frustrating equally entertaining. Sonehow in a drought Grimsby v Carlisle was abandonded - waterlogged pitch!

Is it just me or do you agree when we somewhat abandon the constant tippy tap football at the back, later in the game and play a bit more ditect we actually threaten the opposition more. We started so poorly and if it hadnt of been for our on loan goalscorer we had little to show in a frustrating game I think Yems wouldnt have lost. Betsy off to a terrible start. Thankfully only two get relegated. Otherwise his job would be on the line before long if he keeps this up. One point from 4 games is pathetic.

Well the 2nd half was a lot better but then it couldn't have been much worse than the 1st let's be honest. We do not have the quality of players to play the way Betsy wants imo. Wing backs nowhere near good enough. He needs to get some points on the board soon or the rot will set in and all the euphoria of the new regime will be gone.
Think some of the criticism harsh. Cobblers look like a top 3 side. With a bit more composure in front of goal could have taken 3 points. We're still not able to play quality football for more than a half but we still seem to be getting better each game. Compare that to Carlisle who are good but not spectacular,it's a huge improvement. Not to mention the fact we are missing pretty much our entire first choice backline, including GK, a few mistakes at the back are understandable. I agree that 1 point is poor but look at the teams we've played against, all top half, all established, We're on an upward trajectory, points are on the way

The fans around me were saying it wasn't good enough and Betsy ball is bollocks.
Would you prefer them to shout it out...like they were criticised for doing v Orient?
I am not trying to generate anythingby the way. I come along to watch football and be entertained. I learned long ago that my take on who the manager is/isn't doesn't mean diddly squat but our worst start to a season in the football league EVER. must have him under pressure or Wagmi's stated aim of progression is also rubbish.
After that great start we became very ponderous, and worrying lightweight. The players looked nervous, and it felt as if any one of our passing movements could culminate with someone being muscled into a costly mistake. Didn't start much better in the second half, but then Northampton seemed to fade and we started playing some good, entertaining stuff. Naderz is creating chances with his pace, but (goes without saying) needs to work on his composure to finish them off. He really should have buried that chance after our equaliser. Didn't he have another 1 on 1 before our second goal too?
So frustrating that their winner came from another defensive lapse. Thought the draw was well on the cards, and deserved too after the way we had played for most of the second half. Bloody frustrated in the end!
Having said all of that, as someone above says we've got some good defensive players to come back, and I'm looking forward to seeing whether we can sustain more of the positive stuff we saw at times last night for the game against AFC, who will also be feeling a bit battered after their result last night!
