I'd have wanted double that at least! I think we paid about that amount to York for Brodie back in 2010. As superreddevils said,we must be deseprate to accept an offer that low for a 26 year old 20 goal a season L2 player. Very disappointing if it materialises.
This is dissapointing news but you can't be surprised that we're "desperate." Even with the extra funding from the owner we are still the fourth smallest club in the FL and will always be a selling club. A quarter of a mil is a lot of money at our level for anybody. I just hope we have credible replacements lined up...
If we get 250 k its a reasonable deal if the money is reinvested. That fee plus Collins wage will bring in three decent league two players. We wont get a 20 goal striker again so we will need a couple of new strikers who hopefully get that total between them.

Has Harrold signed ?
i hope not be lucky if he gets 5 goals let alone 15+ never known a player who is so loved by a club and has been at best a huge waste of money been stealing a living for 2 years lets not make it 3 CTFC
Selim can dress it up how he likes but we were already short of quality with our signing of one proven player and two young prospects adding to a side that proved last season they were not good enough. To then lose one of the very few reasons we stayed up is pretty disastrous as we will need about five or six just to make us competitive that is assuming we can find a goalscorer as none of the current lot can score goals. And as somebody said, why we have wasted yet more money on Matt Harrold I have no idea, a nice guy and cult hero maybe but three seasons of wasted money due to injuries. Still at least we got the season tickets sold before the bad news (if the Argus is to be believed) was announced!
Also as surprising as resigning the perpetually injured Matt Harrold I also am sure I saw Arthur in the pre season training pics, surely we havent resigned him? Was it ever announced what was happening to all the out of contract players (or was Arthur on a two year deal?).
Arthur deal expired in June but there was a 1 year option. To be fair if Collins stays it will make us quite predictable, mark him or shut off the supply and there is no other threat. At our level 250,000 well spent could get 3 decent league 2 players which is what we need.
