Couldn't disagree more.....would set a dangerous precedent. Void the season, only fair thing to do.
Fair? Don't be stupid. Wait until it's safe, then resume the season and play it to a finish. However long it takes. Even if it means the start of next season is delayed. All sports all around the world are in the same situation.
Oh...and disrupt 2 seasons instead of 1.When would be limit for restarting the season or will we just wait forever. Nobody wants it cancelled but it is the most realistic outcome.

Just have a season with no cup competitions - - you would get a league season in with no problems
This season should be stopped and declared void. No one goes up and no one goes down. No trophies handed out. Man City can keep the league cup because that competition was completed.
Im sorry but there is definitely an agenda in the media and in football in general that Liverpool have to win the league.....they have to accept that this is a world wide extremely different circumstances and somethings are more important than football!!!

If the season is declared null and void I can see it being dragged out in the courts for teams that are in promotion positions and feel they were potentially denied going up and that's no longer sport. It has to be decided on the pitch which is why im very much in favour its completed however long it takes to do that. Whenever that comes teams will not be ready straight away anyway as they will need to get players fit staff in that have been laid off etc.
There are always ways and means. After 10 weeks (say end May) we may be in a position to play games, even behind closed doors. It is not unusual to play 2 or 3 games a week near the end of the season, so an end July finish may be workable.
New season starts in September..if necessary the season can be shortened by removing the minor competitions for a year (Carabou and JPT) and using the dates for league games.

I'm inclined to agree, even if it means that next season the teams play each other only once. Something might need to be in place to prevent a team having an excessive amount of away games, both to prevent too much playing disadvantage and too much revenue loss. Another way might be to share gate money between both sides similar to the FA Cup.
However, I fear the above is optimistic. The talk is of no vaccine for a minimum of a year. And on that note I want to say something non-football related. A massive shout out to the person who agreed to take the initial first-in-man trial before proper tests on other animals were completed. There's taking one for the team, and there is real guts. Bearing in mind what happened a few years ago to some people who suffered badly after testing, that's guts. I don't doubt that the person was paid way over the normal rates for agreeing to it, but that's not the point.

Or as another option, play more midweek Premier League matches if need be, there are hardly any these days. And if it means them being staged in the same week as the beloved Champions League, then so be it, the 4 clubs involved can catch up once they’re out.
Oh actually, thinking about it, why not make the Champions League shorter...and smaller, say....just for the actual champions of each country....?

Indeed each day what is REALLY important becomes ever more clearer & who wins this seasons Premier League becomes less relevant, although a 22-25 point lead with 9 games left, must be as close as you can get to "almost there"... I bet those games moved to accomodate the mid-season break is already part of the conspiracy theory...(?)
...my crackpot idea is that you complete "this season" when you can...
...and fairly soon after, start "next season"...
But with 5* or 6**, reduced size leagues...!
To enable the following season start date to be back in sync, the number of leagues & their size is determined by the available time period.
Which league you are in, is entirely based on final positions when "this" season is completed...
... the final positions from "next" seasons smaller leagues can then determine the league you are in when it returns to a 4 league format in the following season...!
It is complicated, but fair as it based solely on merit...!
suggested names: * Premier A & B Leagues ** Championship A & B leagues Leagues 1 & 2 can retain their names.

Cue litigation as the likes of Newcastle and Brighton figure out they have lost all top games.
And then stand back as the greedy few suggest it could be made permanent.
Good interim step to a European Super League though.
Cue litigation as the likes of Newcastle and Brighton figure out they have lost all top games.
It can only be lost through their own efforts... results to date & in the circa 9 games remaining in the current season.
Brighton & Newcastle can complain that they were not good enough to finish in the top (lets say)12-14(?), but they started out with precisely the same opportunity as every other team.
Leeds & WBA can complain that they won't play Man City, it is not perfect, but is at least merit based.
In any event, there are lots of precedents where the FA & EFL have revised the structures of their league competitions. Introduction of the Premier League & re-introduction of Play-offs being prime examples.
Conclude this season then think of 92 clubs (as at the start of next season) in sequence 1 to 92 & instead of slicing them into 4 leagues, place them in N amount of leagues. Where N allows for every team to face their peers home & away, in the agreed timescale.
At the conclusion, take the relevant clubs in sequence 1 to 92 (as above) & revert back to the original 4 league structure... After all, the league table never lies.
And then stand back as the greedy few suggest it could be made permanent.
Good interim step to a European Super League though.
Everything at the top level is simply an interim step to that aim... we all know the agenda.
However, when the health scare is over, there is likely to be totally revised attitudes to the whole concept of easy travel, tourism & public gatherings, which may be an argument that even the greediest will struggle to counter...(?)

Agreed, people who claim the integrity of a season is paramount can’t really say why the integrity of the following season should be compromised. If we can’t get back to playing football by August or September, it makes no sense to restart the current one. Expanding the EPL will allow promotion across all the leagues and a one year moratorium on relegation - it’s the fairest outcome. To relegate teams in September or October will be utterly bizarre

The trouble is Thad by altering the rules effectively mid-season you are going to get uproar. I just dont think it would work.
