I don't read the interview as a man "resigned to the sack". He still seems up for the fight to me and not (yet) looking over his shoulder.
He has had to deal with extensive injuries, has been unable to play the same team more than once this season and there is no doubt that we have been unlucky in some games. We have competed well at times - the Fulham game (yes it really was Fulham! - they had five full internationals in their starting line up) but other games have been a struggle.
Will we improve under Betsy? who knows, will he leave this week? who knows but I do wonder if he is just unlucky. so, to grossly misquote Cardinal Mazarin from 17th century France, rather than est-il habile? (is he skilful?) is it perhaps a case of est-il malchanceux? (is he unlucky?).
KEVIN BETSY'S RED ARMY!
BUT isn't the situation untenable now. Its a very small army, seriously this forum is no doubt representative of the overall fan base and the number now after 11 matches still in that army is very few indeed. That in itself is a problem he is facing a fan base that don't believe in him, of course fans are often fickle to some extent but its a massive hurdle I don't think can be overcome hence the untenable position.
Actually I've always believed the self-selecting bunch of fans who love to regale the world about their opinions quite loudly online are probably the most unrepresentative part of the fan base. Absolutely include myself in that of course. The most representative are those who quietly watch people trading heated opinions and then make up their owns minds without necessarily thinking the world has to know what they are. My view (and it's only a guess from the mood in Redz the other day post match) is there isn't a clear consensus among those calmer, more measured folk
I think the tactics Betsy used against Stockport and Stevenage show that he is moving towards a more direct style of play.
It would be good if results improve. Maybe Betsy is too nice to be a football Manager.
Someone mentioned the contrast between him and Paul Raynor on Saturday. One was constantly communicating with his players and pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable intimidating the officials and the other was….

How much longer is Betsy being given i thought by now the club would of made a statement either he's staying with a vote of confidence, and he's got so many games to turn it round or he's out on his ear. Do Preston and Co understand the situation we are in or do they still believe Betsy will come good for what its worth from what i have seen he is out of his depth. Steve are you coming to defend him like you always do after my posts.

A manager sacking doesn't happen until it happens. To publicise what is said at meetings behind the scenes would not be a good option. For all we know he's been given a target of 8 points from the next six games W2 D2 L2 (or one win and five draws), but it would be wrong to make that public. I think it's more realistic that the owners are buying time while they see who is available, and hope for several good results to appease the baying masses.
Veni, vidi, copulate: I came, I saw, I f***ed it up (made the last one up!)

Isn't it always good to have both points of view represented on here, Trev? Granted you are right I probably do bite a lot (maybe too much) at the anti Betsy stuff on here but it's all in the interests of a balanced debate. There's also a hardcore of about half a dozen anti-Betsy forum members who post A LOT, skewering the median of the discussion a fair bit.
I'm not sure us being out of the bottom 2 on Monday on goal difference and us being in the bottom 2 on goal difference on Tuesday without us playing necessarily means everyone has to repeat the same points but there you go.
I thought Preston's video statement at the weekend was pretty much what you were asking for there? The "all options on the table" comment was I think rightly interpreted that the issue was being closely studied by the owners. But there are a lot of factors in play here and we've discussed them numerous times
