Regardless of the content, that is an appallingly written article.
They are not worth taking seriously, they've produced two articles saying opposite things within a week and not naming a single source to be accountable on either occasion
Is that the article that says we utilised FA Cup rules to put some of the Sidemen on the bench for our FA Cup game? The one we haven't played yet because it's still the qualifying rounds? Hmmm.
What have you been reading? Who says second bottom of the league is doing a good job? You love debating a straw man because you don't have the intellectual honesty to get to grips with the real debate about sacking a manager after 11 games.
It remains very unusual to sack a manager so soon after being appointed, only Hartley comes into that category this season and we don't know if there was a behind the scenes fallout to explain that one. All signs show that the links between Besty and Wagmi remain solid. It's not uncommon for managers to have bad runs and if you sack a manager every 11 games you end up with scenario of having 3 or 4 a season and everyone laughing at a tinpot club. No one has explained how paying Betsy off will impact on our budget for new signings we need, like a central midfielder. No one has explained how we will attract another talented manager if he knows at the start he's only going to get 11 games, who will give up a good job for that?
Guys like Joey Barton last season had a tiny number of wins in his first 20 games yet got Bristol Rovers promoted, someone like you would have sacked him. When I asked Bristol Rovers fans a few weeks ago about that, they replied we as fans are loyal fans and not kneejerkers, says it all?
Last season, there was a 13-game spell between October and December when John Yems picked up 5 league points and lost 3 cup games (scoring 0 goals and conceding 9). Poor runs happen to even good managers like him - only people with goldfish memories think the sack is the immediate answer.
No one is saying bottom 2 can go on forever, there has to be improvement sooner or later. But he will get more time. There were people calling him to be sacked after the first home game, and some people have been locked into that unrealistic overreaction ever since, getting increasingly shriller justifying such short-termism --- rather than getting to grips with any of the real issues as listed above
That has cracked me up 😂😂😂 As I expected usual waffle zero content, love it.
Ok, well it's there for everyone to judge for themselves. I'm sure they'll give due weight to your expertise in hitting the smilies button

Without wanting to look like Steve and I agree on everything (on this point we do though!), his response was excellent and provided what you asked for and more. It's so easy to call for his head without giving any thought to the implications of doing such a thing. I don't disagree results could have been better but that wasn't my point originally, more that we need to give a new manager and new leadership team time to bed in. 11 games however disappointing is no excuse to go into panic mode and throw the baby out with the bath water.
Gentlemen, Ladies, Girls, boys and everyone else. Take a chill pill please. We are all supporting the same team. We just have different views about how to do this.
😂 Insubstantial!! Every week we give the facts as to why he’s not up to the job. Literally 100s of posts stating facts. Did you not see we average 2 shots on target per game? Have you not looked at the league table? These are facts, yet you two only have the same argument each week. Steve says it’s all down to luck and westy has everything crossed and is hoping! Insubstantial😂😂😂 Come on give us the evidence as to why Betsy with one of the biggest budgets in the league is doing a good job? Give us something substantial Steve, use some stats and not just your usual ramblings that you like his interviews. I’m holding my breath.

The hypocrisy of your posts are different level! All this waffle about how fans should support a manager even during a bad run, quoting a bad run Yems had and how even good managers like him have bad runs. Yems had half of Betsy’s budget, proved what a good job he could do at L2 level….
So Steve did you ever express the view that Yems should go, even after he had already proved that he could do a job at L2 level??
Once again Steve you fail to answer a simple question?? Did you not call for Yems head?
You are unbelievable. During his injury crisis one year ago, when there was people calling for his head, I was one of Yems’s loudest defenders on this forum. The match threads are all still on this forum, go and have a look if you have any doubts.
Instead of doing that, or the barest the minimum of checks, you just launch into personal abuse like hypocrite.
I won’t stoop to your level tho. The way you behave on this forum is obvious for all to see, I don’t have to name it.
It’s just remarkable how some people want to use these sad run of results that we are now experiencing for other purposes.
If we do get a new manager, I’ll be proud to back them as much as I have Yems and Betsy, it’s how I support the club

Another classic 😂😂😂 waffle but no answer. Simple question did you not call for Yems to be sacked?? Yes or no?

So you’ve made up something completely false about me. And you don’t even have the basic decency to, if not apologise, at least keep your head down. But you think hitting the smilie button again is the way to go

Well Tiger... I try to stay away, but you have spurred me into action... although you may be disappointed that I genuinely have no strong feelings either way on Betsy.
It is self-evident that - so far - he has failed to acquire a proportionate points return relative to his budget and team morale has eroded. Poor results will always intensify pressure from supporters... and also investors (who need to question the extent that their own actions have contributed to current circumstances).
However, I am actually rather intrigued by the question you have asked... alongside the consequent very defensive response & reluctance to provide any sort of direct answer.
I am wondering if you are maybe - just possibly - making a subtle reference to the actions of a certain individual.... who... on multiple occasions, would approach a total stranger as they made their way home after a match... and introduce himself with an opening phrase such as: "Yems has to go"... or similar...(?)
If it helps, I know of at least two people who can relate their first hand experience of such an incident and can testify to the individuals obvious agenda. Oh... and his identity too... but that shouldn't really ever be necessary, he - and all forumites - have a right to anonymity...
.... and it also means that a few of us can continue to enjoy many more months, of laughing at the sheer hypocrisy of his posts...!
If the ownership are okay with youtube players, I suppose they could always offer the manager job to someone on this forum - maybe one of the louder pro-sackers.

That’s interesting Thad. I know you haven’t named this person, however it’s pretty clear who he is and it seems to be he has massive double standards.

If this is a reference to me, you are very much mistaken. I was a big fan of what Yems achieved on the pitch - and it's very simple to check this by looking at all the match threads from last year where I'm defending him to the hilt even during some of our bad defeats. I've never in my life called for Yems to be sacked, in fact I've had arguments with those who did that last season. I could start bouncing all the match threads on last year but perhaps that would be overkill? You just trust people's common decency not to make up stuff? Is that too much to ask
