Fantastic win and the first time we have scored five in a competitive game since November 2020 (nearly two years ago) in the famous 6-5 cup win over Torquay. For context, the last time we scored five in the league, as far as I can determine, was in October 2011 (eleven years ago) against Wimbledon.
It sounds as though we beat a Betsy-esque team last night.
Listening to the interview from Lewis afterwards it does sound like there was major problems behind the scene with regards to morale. Glad we git rid when we did but it should have happened earlier judging by those comments. Lewis Youngs red army!

Interesting observation. And all the more reason to keep LY in charge. He is one of our own and the players know that and I believe respect that. I also feel a sense of anger again at how much damage Kevin Betsy has done to the football club. By far, the worst manager this football club has ever had in my living memory.
If results improved I would have been okay with Betsy being reviewed around Christmas. Even after losing to Stevenage, albeit with a reasonable performance, I was prepared to wait a bit longer. But that defeat at Grimsby was woeful and I was starting to think it wouldn't get any better. I guess it was the final straw. I'm not one who likes to chop and change managers and would have tolerated one or two mediocre seasons - but not relegation.

Yeah i get that impression that is what is indirectly being inferred in these interviews, which although maybe accidental, is not the best thing for Lewis to be doing in his interviews.
I think the best thing would be for us to get an experienced manager, and by that it doesn't have to be one with 10-15 years management experience, a manager that's already managed at this level succesfully for one or tow season would be fine. We've had 3 managers who've not had any first team manger experience with Kewll, Drummy and Betsy and 2 of those 3 didn't work out and one of them did ok and then left after a season and a half. I don't think we should take that risk again. Get a new manager that's managed at this level before in and keep Young as assistant or first team coach.
I agree with AlexBH at the moment Lewis is everybody's best friend but footballers are a fickle bunch and with forty players to keep Happy the honeymoon period may not last long that's when an experienced and successful manager is required I'm sure the club wouldn't ditch Lewis as he has already proved himself to be a perfect link between the old and the new.

LEWIS YOUNG'S RED ARMY!
We scored 5 against Barnsley in 2015, and that Torquay cup game was over 120 minutes

I think it's pretty inevitable Lewis Young won't be leaving the club any time soon no matter what eventually happens with the managerial situation

The thing is though, I do think this squad is pretty talented and with a bit of guidance from someone who knows how to get the best out of them I reckon it won't be too long before we move away from real danger. To be fair to Betsy he did bring in a couple of top young players on loan which I doubt we would have been able to have if it wasn't for him (I'm thinking mainly Balagizi and Tom F). In contrast, another manager who had a similarly poor start which resulted in an early departure this season (Paul Hartley) signed a load of players that were not of the standard required for this league when he was at Hartlepool and it appears Keith Curle has really struggled to do much with that squad, who he said simply weren't good enough

Err...where did I ever say I was going to Three Bridges? Never that's when....jig on....sideways.
