No fan really ever gets everything that they want out of a transfer window and as I mainly wanted a striker and a centre-back, probably that goes double for me. But we've strengthened elsewhere and that could be critical in the dogfight ahead. Spong is a very talented footballer and will provide good competition for Khaleel in attacking midfield and could conceivably also play out wide given his technical ability. Kellan Gordon looks like he will challenge Johnson very hard at rightback. Schofield same with Corey. Roles we will have to see what he offers and what spot he'll be challenging but midfield is now our area of most depth I reckon.
It looks like we went after a striker but couldn't get our preferred target. OK, not good but equally we did't want to settle for another journeyman signing as we perhaps mistakenly did in the first half of the season. I'll be closely watching what Lindsey makes of the forward positions and whether he wants a 4-3-3 with wide players (which requires less out and out no 9s in the squad) or does he see some purpose from us in the traditional 4-4-2
It's not unheard of for teams to play without an out-and-out striker, with attack-minded midfielders taking turns to slot in. If you rotate that responsibility during a game it can be tricky to defend against. Although not ideal, it can be turned into a positive.
Let’s all give the manager a bit of slack- he’s had one game and most of us were pleased with the result and performance by the players - he has been partial to the players who had have been signed so let’s see how they start gelling into the squad and the team -
I don't see anyone giving Lindsey a hard time. The team - and Lindsey - did well against Salford, it was a top result, and unexpected, let's be honest. Hopefully he will stand up to any interference in first team matters as well.
Never mind us backing the manager, it's Wagmi that need to trust and back him.
If Telford gets suspended or injured who can step into that role? I do not rate Oteh unfortunately I think we are very limited there.
Oteh is much better in a supporting role, I must admit I thought Kwesi was on a half season loan but it appears I’m mistaken. I think if Telford gets injured Lindsey won’t have much of a choice but to recall him, I suspect though Wagmi will say no because he is a vocal supporter on Twitter of the frozen three and Nichols.
The strikers department has been a strange one all season. Lots of numbers potentially, but rarely get more than 3 in a matchday squad. Fellows and Chukwuemeka can both play up there, but really, it’s Telford, Nadesan and Oteh, now that Nichols has gone and Appiah is out on loan. Seven names there, but realistically only 3.

Yes Kwesi spoke out and that must be a 'hanging offence'

If that's the case, then Wagmi clearly don't have the best interests of the team at heart.
