I can't think of anyone in the last two years who has left the club for a higher league club (or even top league 2) since Watters. A lot have had to go down to National League to get a game, and even Nichols went to a club below us. Hard to make money on player sells in this situation.

Maybe there is a positive slant to this - that we once had a manager who put teams together where the whole was greater than the sums of their parts. Hopefully, we now have another.

Watters was unreal, a shame we could not watch more of him in person. We’ll never see a striker like him in league 2 again.
A couple of old friends of ours in there with Matty Willock and Leon Clarke! Clarke went to Bristol Rovers last season, scored against us in his first game, inevitably, but not sure how much he played after that.
