I assume Scott thought he was one for future? He has only scored 2_goals in 15 appearances at National South level (for Worthing and Tonbridge) so does not appear ready for this level yet. Could be be another one like Alex Battle or Davide Rodari? Looked good against lower non league clubs but could not make the increase in level?
We won't ever know if he can make the step up to L2 unless he actually plays. Too easy to dismiss him as not good enough when he's never been given a chance.
Yes, it’s a tricky one sometimes. A couple of weeks ago I saw Alex Battle play for Tavistock against the local team here, Bishops Cleeve, in Southern Lge South Div 1. For 92 minutes I was pretty unimpressed - he was totally anonymous and isn’t even the leading scorer at the club. Then, with a minute of added time left, he turned and smashed an unstoppable left foot 20 yarder into the top corner to win the game. A stunning strike but would he have cut it in Lge 2? Case very much unproven there but that is sometimes the skill and instinct of a manager to spot a gem like Max Watters when others don’t see it.
I think the results of the last transfer period shows just how interested WAGMI are in the club and how all their grandiose plans have now collapsed and i would not be at all surprised if they are not here next season. If they do hang on what level will we sink to recruiting new players but worst who will they sell of our current squad just to recover some money.
trev, you make it sound so simple but with our history who would be rushing to buy us and who in our squad is the million pound player,I get as frustrated as everyone else but maybe we should get off WAGMI'S back and accept we have a decent mid table side run by a good manager in a comfortable ground with some of the cheapest football in the league.
To be fair, it has been a quiet transfer window all around as clubs take stock of the new regime of points deductions. These are for financial indiscretions that were overlooked until recent times.

I agree with Eltel.
Interestingly reading today Simon Jordan suggested that Palace fans should be careful what they wish for as they have done well in recent years (comparatively) and many other teams have been and gone from the premier league.
I think we are at that stage as well. Wherever we finish this season we will have done better than many feared at the start of the campaign.
The matchday experience is much better and the club although not rich has done well with what we have managed to get in. Yes we would all like more which is similar to the Palace fans but maybe just maybe we should be thankful for what we have.
Although this window was pants the recruitment this season in general has been MILES better than during Betsy’s reign.

Interesting, probably deserves its own thread. i hope we have sensible questions and definitely no questions about hand- dryers.
i would be good to prepare a few questions on this forum before hand. my first would be the obvious one “ what plans do you have for next season?”
I had the same question, and have submitted it on the form the club provided. Also sent one about an update on commercial manager, and stadium sponsorship. I agree we should be asking sensible, positive questions.

Agreed hopefully mods can split into another thread. I just want to know their future plans first and foremost. If they’re actively looking for a buyer they need to say so.
Look Sports Media just announcing we’re set to sign a defender on a free from Southend United.
Chap called Brooklyn Kabongolo 21 years old.
Started his career in the youth side at Ipswich Town.
Seems well thought of according to sources.
I follow closely Southend United news. This player was highly thought of but his father was his agent and they could not agree terms. Apparently he wanted to guarantee a place in the side every week, something that the new owners would not agree to. Rumours only but plenty to read about him on Shrimperzone. He has the potential to be a very good signing

He may well be a good signing, but it's not reasonable for *any* player to demand first team selection every week.
I agree Paul, I do not want to pre judge the player on things you can read on line. If he signs I would hope that our management are strong enough to guide he through the next stage in his career.
