Does anyone else think we lack physicality in the team.
I’ve seen numerous opposition players this season against us that look stronger, even the smaller ones are often quick and built like mini brick shithouses.
We’re pushed around and bullied too often for my liking.
The LAST thing I want is for us to become long ball kick and run merchants as we can all see the huge strides we’re taking this season under SL playing possession based football.
However I do wish we had more capability to deal with bigger stronger opposition players with a few hard cases of our own when some games need that type of approach.
Today is another example of us being a bit outmuscled as well as looking like rabbits caught in the headlights for some unknown reason.
Have you noticed every time it is said " so and so has not won for so long" that team always seems to beat us
As everyone has said that was a terrible performance by all of the starting outfield players. Not one of them had a good or even average game. I would give them all 2/10, but Corey 8.5. We deserved to lose at least 3-0 and were only kept in the game by Corey's brilliant performance. Passing and defending, and attacking all very poor. And we gave them their goal - always going to happen occasionally with our always pass back mentality.
We were out fought and thought by a much poorer side. Yes Orsi was man marked and had his shirt pulled all the time by their 42, by why wasn't things changed earlier, by bringing Lolos on at half time to give them something else to think about. Lolos looked the only one who might do something .Ffs why does he not start more games, he is the one player who can offer something different. At one time Orsi moved to the wing, and the 42 didn't follow. Why didn't we mix it up or change things at half time? It was clear we needed a plan B, but then we don't have one do we?
Oh well on to the next one and let's hope it is a better performance as it is my first away game (going on the coach).
Lindsey reminds me of Southgate. Sticks with his favourites however good or bad they play. Same line ups, same tactics, same substitutions, if it goes wrong, no idea how to change things.

Just watched interview with Scott and he obviously feels it as much as we do. I agree no plan B isn't good and he is still learning like the team but give him credit that he didn't hide and took responsibility. As Paul said a while ago, one win one defeat is ok so lets not get overly carried away even if as Scott said it was the worse performance since he joined us.

No doubt this is true as we dont have one player (except maybe Gladwin) who I would want with me in a bar if it went wrong!

Crying over spilt milk. No good him feeling bad after the game. React during the game, make changes according to what's happening in the match. Rather than Lolos on after 70 minutes every time. He creates chances, defends well when needed, scores goals, but obviously doesn't make enough sideways and backwards passes for SL's liking, so never starts. And has he banned the players from ever making a tackle?
That may well be so, but I don’t think that’s how the players saw it.
If they didn't like it, they should have bloody played better. And Lindsey needs a wake up call. Have a fucking plan B when plan A isn't working. If there was actually a plan today. Change things when it isn't working. Subs can come on before 70 minutes. Start Lolos. Every game. Play Adeyemo and Gordon - they actually attack and try and create. And ffs teach the defenders how to pass it forwards.
Booing isnt really the answer. I'd agree with Scott on this that as it was only 1-0 we were in with a chance ( I know playing like we were it wasn't really likely) and no need to boo

Have a good nights sleep Northgate and it will be better in the morning

I've never booed the players and I don't think I ever would. But I can understand why some people did. But let's not pretend that the booing caused that horror show from the players today.

I have said it before that we need a cruncher or two in the team - a league 2 version of Cant and Cockell for those of my age.
Blatant shirt pulling on Orsi but he probably overdid the falling to the ground everytime!
I knew you'd come out with something like that. Continually fouled, and you focus on how he falls over. Priceless.
Being an ex (park level) defender it was sometime fairly easy to get an attacker to play how you wanted by adopting what some might see as dubious tactics. For example if they continually called for a free kick rather than play the ball I was winning. My point was that Orsi was fouled without a doubt continually but every time after the first occasion he fell theatrically to the ground trying to further persuade the ref to give him a free kick - that added no value to his cause.

Very true and a performance to forget. I feel especially for the fans who wasted a lot of money for the coach to Peterborough who turned up to see that performance

Totally agree and I’ve thought this for a little while now. We are bullied too easily although I am at a loss to know why we are near the top of the card tables. Our players seem to get booked for minor infringements whereas other teams’ players get away with far worse. Yes, it’s possible to try and play round that but we have to be quicker and more precise with our passing to do that. If we are going to be serious about challenging the upper sections of the table we need players who can front up and compete physically with teams like we saw today.

Outmuscled. Outfought. Outplayed.
Agreed. We just don't seem to know how to play against this type of team. We just try and play the same way against any type of opposition. It seems to me that when things are not working and we are struggling in a game, we sometimes don't know what to do and carry on playing the same way rather than change things or bring on substitutes earlier.
What has happened to our home performance recently? That is now 3 defeats in four, arguably two against good sides in Mansfield and Wimbledon, but in the past we were able to get an odd draw in these games. This season we have only drawn 3 games all season, all away, and only Leicester, Blackburn and Gillingham have drawn less in the EFL.
On the other hand, we are currently relying on our away form to keep us in mid-table (3 wins from 4 and second best in League behind Mansfield over last four games). Scott said away form improved after Gladwin discussed it with the team. Maybe he now should chat to the team about the home form. As he is likely to be injured for some time, he might as well help with the coaching/management.
As Paul says win one lose one gets us 69 points, mid-table but probably not near play-offs. We need to bring in some harder more experienced players to grind out a few more results to progress but definitely a big improvement on the last year.
