At L1 level we will need 2 match ready options in every position.
Who - who knows. After the success of last summer's signings then more of the same is fine.
Also there is the possibility of other movements. For example Orsi has a year left on his current deal and presumably if we get a decent offer then a sale is possible rather than a free next summer.
I’ve been thinking the exact same about getting better signings because of our L1 status and I’d say not only regards to loan signings.
Surely a good few that may not have considered joining us before are now thinking of the shop window we would offer them playing in front of some big old clubs in our league, bigger stadiums, bigger crowds and a bit more exposure for them.

I think the football we now play under Scott will be a draw to some
Looking at the released names from other teams in League 1 there are some good players, so hopefully we will be looking at some of the players released.
Most teams at this level, also have much bigger squads including U23s.
I notice that Crewe offered new contracts to five of their squad but two, Elliott Nevitt and Like Offord, have already signed deals for other League 2 clubs. However, Chris Long, who dived in the final to try and get the penalty has signed on.
Shows we need to get our negotiations with those still to sign up sorted quickly before we lose them. However, most of them have never played at League One level, or not for a while, so I am hoping many of them will want to stay unless they get a better offer from another League 1 club.

I’m hoping that because our group seem to have such a great bond between them (numerous players mention this) that they want this party to continue.
The grass ain’t always greener elsewhere so here’s hoping they stick with us.

If I was a player, I would find it hard to walk away from this. Yes, money could do it, but it would have to be substantial.
With us playing in the play-off final it put us two weeks behind everyone else. After such a long season everyone would also need a two to three week holiday with family.
However, you would thought we would have had discussions with who we wanted to stay before the end of the season. Then again, this is Crawley who recently never seem fast off the blocks when it comes to sorting out contracts.
If we don't get our act together soon, I can see us losing 3-4 of the players we are negotiating with if not more. We may therefore have to sign up to 10 new players. If we have to sign so many new players, it could change the team spirit /togetherness which would be a shame.
Saw that this morning on platform written by a sports journalist with over 100 000 followers.
Unreal. Goes to the team we battered in the play offs and drops down a league.
No idea what goes through players minds sometimes I have to say.
Money I guess. Also players often prefer to play in a team they think will do well rather than one which may struggle. Hopefully he will sign for us and Scott likes him, but if not, hopefully we can sign a better defender.
Looks like this mentioned in The Sun, but no further details.

I guess it all depends on whether we actually offered him a deal. CTFC are so slow at getting anything done, he may have got an offer from MKD and accepted it. Players will want their futures sorted as soon as they can.
I know he wanted to stay at CTFC, SL rates him, the fans like him, he was a virtual ever present. A no brainer for the club to offer him a deal. However............... this is Crawley we are talking about.
