Like most full-time pro clubs, MK Dons have more resources than us, and football is a short career. Anyway, it must be true if it's in The Sun. Also, although it's still a fair distance, MK is nearer the area he would regard as home 102 miles rather than 190
Let's not forget that he isn't/wasn't our player, so we hold no advantage over any other clubs that might wish to sign him, other than he's just played for us at Wembley.
He was a decent player for us and we know that Scott appreciated his ball-playing abilities but he was too slow for a back three - he was regularly caught out for pace in L2. He would be better suited to playing in a back four.
Huge thanks to him for everything he did for us and for his undoubted enthusiasm and good luck to him.
So one gone who I thought might stay. To be honest, I can only see 2 or 3 of the players we are negotiating with staying (and that includes Gladwin in a player/coach role), so I hope Wagmi's data analysts have been given their information to Scott by now as I see us having to sign at least 10 players assuming we get no bids for our players on contracts.
Yes it does feel like there could be a larger turnover of players than we might have hoped. Let's see what happens with those who've been offered deals but not yet signed. Hopefully we'll know one way or another soon so we can bring in replacements.
We will need a couple of centre backs either way although I thought Mukena showed a lot of potential . He had a lot of pace and great timing of his tackles. In his first game his distribution looked dodgy but when he had a rum of games passing improved immeasurably. Could be the find of next season if he can kick on.
If we dont get 2 quality Centre halves and a 7ft thug upfront I really believe we will struggle next season. There is no substitute for experience. If WAGMI are serious about the next move up these MINIMUM 3 players must be proven Championship quality. If L1 we may have half a chance staying up. Anything less we may be relegated by Easter. Hate to say it but we need quality and muscle or we will get bossed out of matches next season. Orsi unavailable and we are stuffed. Lolos is too hot and cold. We have no back up. Teams like Bolton and Brum have huge squads we have to compete with.

I am hoping the first new signing is what you suggest, and help boost season ticket sales and our hopes for the new season. The first couple of new signings will give us an indication of Wagmi's plans and ambitions. As you say we need some experienced strong players in the positions you mention (and in central midfield) to be able to compete with these much stronger teams.

I agree, I rate Mukena and think with some more first team games he will improve under Lindsey. Rumour mill is that Wright is also off to MK. Realistically I think the only people we may keep out of the negotiations is Gordon, Roles and maybe J Kelly.
I know we have only just finished the season but everytime I hear another team has added a player I think when is it our turn? I hope SL is pressing upon WAGMI we need experience proven at this new level and the stats model whatever its called has limitations.
