It’s amazing how they have just homed in on the Williams foul and have assumed that’s the way we actually play - they should’ve watched the whole game before making comments about how the team played against Brighton.
NorthgateRed makes a good point and examples where Prem signings and injury’s happen.
I guess just the first time Brighton have really spent in this way. So this is all new to them. But obviously it’s someone else’s fault!
I remember Arsenal and Kallstrom some years ago and I’m sure there’s hundreds of examples.
If Brighton want to compete at the level they are at, then sometimes they will make a signing for £50mill and this will happen. Or they will just be shit! Goes with the territory. Please stop moaning about it.
Jay Williams is a real leader for sure he sets great examples on the pitch and his instructions to others was exceptional. He can definitely play at a higher level in time.

What do you expect Brighton fan forums to say? Something like... Oh well never mind, we were all looking forward to seeing this new exciting (expensive) signing, but if a pub-league team player decides to get his retribution in early then lets all just pretend it never happened...
Agree with the above from Sons FC. I haven't commented on the game as wasn't there as I was away on holiday.
But OMFG, how many butthurt Brighton fans are still on here crying into their Babychams 2 days after the match? They won 4-0 for chrissakes. One of their players got injured which is a real shame for the guy as it was his debut, but some of them, mostly on the BBC footy pages and on social media, are going on like we had him shot.
Sometimes, new signings do get injured, Leny Yoro anyone? Lavia for Chelsea last season. It's really unfortunate but it happens, it's part of football. No player, especially a CTFC player, deliberately tries to injure an opponent. Any Brighton fans think differently? Well they're just idiots.
I'm sorry to say it's no longer acceptable to refer to AFC Wimbledon as AFC Sanctimonious. They've been usurped. It's now Sanctimonious Albion.
Dear Northgate Red, do you really think we give a f*ck about beating Crawley 4-0? Your team was clearly briefed to get stuck-in and your troglodyte captain thought that a league cup second round game was sufficient excuse to poleaxe a skilful opponent. Any of you still dribbling on about it being "just a bit late" are kidding yourselves.

Why are you still on here? Stop crying and try and get a life. You're such a typical Brighton fan. Entitled, arrogant, and so easy to trigger. Jog on now, there's a good chap.

Of course they were briefed to start hard, most teams are and for most games and he didn't "poleaxe" anyone.
Once again Brighton fans are confusing the tackle with the consequences to justify their outrage just because it happened to their new player.
The outageous, unacceptable and disproportionate demonising and hounding of our player has to stop.
I was there and saw it clearly - however much you don't want it to be the case, the tackle was just a little late.
No one has pointed out about how upset Jay Williams was in the dressing room after the game and as Scott said in his press Jay asked Scott for the phone numbers for the Brighton coaching staff so he could ring them and apologise directly and to the player. It wasn’t a good tackle and Scott has apologised. The witch hunt on Jay Williams has to stop. I also question Brighton giving a £30m signing a debut less than 24 hours after signing.
I agree with your last point Elly. Why the rush to give him his debut? If they wanted to introduce him to the small crowd they could have brought him on 10 minutes from the end. Thought it would have been best to save him for the Arsenal game. None of their other big money signings or important first team players featured at all.
Still a late timed tackle, which should have been dealt with better by ref as Scott said, and which unfortunately caused an injury but that can happen in any game.

Oh dear🙄🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Pub league player - typical entitled Premier League fan view of anything outside the Premier League🙄 And what do we expect Brighton fan forums to say? Well not make any death threats for starters, nor suggest that Williams should be sued or the club be liquidated.
