Portsmouth keeper and rumoured CTFC target Alex Bass has decided, inexplicably, to join little Sunderland in preference to Crawley or Exeter
He's a decent shot stopper and he's young so he has plenty of time to get better. If you're looking for a solid No 1 for this coming season he wasn't the answer but if you're looking for a 2nd choice with the potential to step up in a year or two then he would have been a good fit.
Cheers - think with Addai that position is filled here for the time being, to the extent that people do think it's realistic he may even seriously challenge now the guy who always wins player of the season!
I would still consider bringing in a 3rd goalie in case Glenn or Corey get injured or sent off in a game (and no doubt saying this will bring back memories of Jensen/Harrold vs Milton Keynes). But this would likely be a very cheap one that is only used for the first team in emergencies

Todays goalkeeper rumour is on Football League World, we're "set to swoop" for Brentford keeper Ellery Balcombe, he's played England U18/19/20 so may be known to KB?

With the departure of Dean Lightwood it suggests maybe Glenn will finally become the goalkeeper coach and hang up the gloves?

That’s assuming he wants the position given it would be a come down for him after being undisputed no.1 for 5 or 6 years. Of course he may be happy to take on a different role.

We already have a new goalkeeping coach. And I believe the keeper from Brentford has already joined us. Really not sure where this leaves Glenn...

I've been on board with pretty much everything in terms of squad building so far but if we get rid of Glenn just because he's not great with his feet then I will be quite worried. Without that man we'd probably be starting this season in the Conference (having been there a while already).
Also puts immense pressure on whoever his replacement is. Every goal we concede the fans will have this inevitable reaction of "Glenn would have saved that".
Betsy needs to be trusted, but this would have an uneasy feeling of the baby being thrown out with the bathwater.
If any of you watched Preston Johnson's interview on Sky Sports yesterday he indicated that there could be another big signing to come before the window closes, and admitted making contact with a player's agent. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a few more players leave the club though
