But what you are describing is an issue with early performance levels, not with the ambition of trying to play greater possession football, which has been constantly criticised in a fairly useless way as tippy tappy. Is this a good ambition to increase our control of possession and the game or not? The point has been made over and over that the most successful teams in League 2 last season are those that do this.
I think you actually know this but for some reason are not being hugely fair to Betsy, who is right at the very start of his career here. Which is odd as you are always the guy welcoming the new players, wishing them success here? Perhaps extend those good wishes to him too. Trying to talk up fiction that he is running out of time here is genuinely baffling when it's the middle of August. It looks peculiar from the outside, as the Northampton guy has told us.
Agreeing with people who don’t care about our team? Well I agree with CarterRed’s post on “tippy tappy” for sure. Are you saying he doesn’t care about the team?
As for disparaging, good lord. I’m disagreeing with your posts that I don’t believe have extended enough patience to Betsy. Am I not allowed to do that? If you tell me you don’t want me to reply to any your posts in future, happy to oblige for a quiet life
If the whole club went to pot the guy from Northampton wouldn't give a monkey's. You're happy to welcome him and say how inciteful his comments are...per chance he agrees with you?
I have never met Betsy. I wish him all the success in the world, with us and further in his career and the first thing he needs to do is sort the team, who have had their worst start to an efl season, out. Something I think he is capable of doing but I also think he is under pressure to get it done.
Please keep replying to all the posts. As I said to Polly on another thread. God loves those who care enough to disagree.

It did seem such good timing when Steve was so keen to get his points across that magically a Northampton fan appeared to back up all his points with such confidence that we will be all fine and how good Betsy is and just need to give him time. It was almost like they were at one together even the banter! Not for a minute suggesting this person was made up, just surprised they had given so much insight after watching us for one game, even added a Harry Kewell reference!
Do you really think we was robbed! They were much the better side first half after we caught them cold early on. Second half they sat back on their lead (as many away teams would) and once we equalised it’s then hard to shift the momentum. Even still they had more shots, more on target and more corners. I know stats aren’t everything but as the home side we hardly battered them.
They were the better side first half but I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say we battered them second half.
Agree 100% second half we were excellent going forward !

For sure keep prentending it's just him saying this and ignore the points CarterRed made about "tippy tappy" and actually loads of other Crawley fans said about a very good second-half performance. It's just a bit weak implying anyone who disagrees with you doesn't care about the club.

lol are you actually saying I made him up? Absolute incredible event that an opposition fan posts here after we play their team, wow that never happens! People do love their comspiracy theories on here,it's quite comical
Any way fair play to him, he seems to have created a bit of a stir just for saying some fairly obvious things that most of us would say if we heard an opposition manager was "under threat" after a couple of weeks into the season.
I think it's quite normal to have criticisms of how a manager is performing but really a bit weird to be saying his job is on the line after a few weeks. I'm pretty much convinced that latter stuff is more down to unhappiness over how Yems was treated months ago rather than anything Betsy is doing now but I guess we'll see how that pans out.
So before I get accused of being Betsy's PR manager, for the record here's what I think he needs to improve on.
The main criticism - does he know his best team? No he doesn't. He's continuing to try different things to see what works and what doesn't. That doesn't give you the biggest chance to beat teams like Orient and Northampton who have settled teams and play like they know each other inside out. But fairminded fans will give Betsy time to find his best players and his best combinations. And they will take into account our new injury crisis too. When injuries ravaged our squad last season, Yems believed the likes of Adebowale and Ransom weren't solutions to the fact that we couldn't win a home game last season between late September and January. But they both played last night. Betsy is spreading the net wide, but that is inevitably a trial and error process. And we are seeing errors alas, that's clear.
One step forward against Northampton was that I think he has at last found Balagizi's best position. Goal-scoring midfielders have been as rare as rocking horse droppings for us in the past few seasons so if we've found one that can get us 10-15 a season, then he must carry on playing just behind the forwards rather than deep lying as he was in his first games for us. We know some of our forwards aren't clinical with chances but if Balagizi is, then that could be a big step forward.
Now with Balagizi moved up, Betsy had to find another guy to play the deep lying position in front of the centre-backs and Powell was it. Now I like Powell but under Yems, he did his best work for us again further up the pitch linking up with forwards, so I'm sceptical at this stage Betsy has made the right choice here, but we'll see. It's a role more suited for Jenks perhaps.
Another thing Yems did a lot of was convert wide forwards/wingers into wing-backs, eg Ferry, Tilley etc. Betsy is trying to do the same with Mason and I have to say, not just because of the huge clanger in injury time, but I'm not yet convinced that Mason is best suited to having defensive responsibilities. So I'm worried that decision by Betsy ended up costing us getting something out of the game this week, but it's early days and I will keep an open mind if Mason gets more chances to show that he can better cope with the more physical chores of being a wing-back. Ditto with Travis Johnson, who has looked a bit nervous in that role too.

So apart from the wing backs, the centre backs, and the midfield Betsy knows what he’s doing? Good job the strikers are on fire!

The hilarious part is you jumping all over an opposing fan that has watched us for one game (lose)and is convinced Betsy is a good manager and has a plan! Couldn’t make it up! Or could you?

Yes I made him up! You've rumbled me. Just can't get anything past that tinfoil hat you're wearing, bravo!

But Northampton didn’t have a settled side, they had an injury hit side and players out of position especially second half.
Every side has injuries but settled teams with core players in key positions find it much easier to slot players in and out because they have a basic structure. We don't quite have that yet. We have our reserve goalie playing, a rejigged defence because 3 or 4 centre-backs are out, a midfield that Betsy hasn't made his mind up on yet and our main goalscorer signing still on the treatment table and our main scorer from last season not match fit. Saying Northampton are the same really doesn't stack up does it

Crawley57 would be threatened with a ban for the amount of spam you post! They ended up playing 2 wingbacks at centre back how is that a settled side! www.northamptonchron.co.uk/sport/football/cobblers-hugely-stretched-after-picking-up-more-injuries-before-and-during-crawley-town-victory-3808866 And yes, the amount of stuff you are making up I do believe you’d make someone up to agree with you! You dont seem to be able to handle anyone having a different opinion to you. Like making up we don’t have a top 7 budget when Preston has repeatedly said the budget is ‘top 7’. Why we would other managers be talking about Crawleys massive budget if we wasn’t spending? If we aren’t top 7 we have underachieved yet you would be happy with mid table😂 How long is the internet going to be interested in following a mid table l2 side with premier league ambitions? I do actually think we might get a win or two in our next three games, do I think we’ll be top 7, probably not.
With the budget we have why did Betsy bring in so many young academy standard players and not get in a few tried and tested L2 players. Was it because that's all he knows, was it because he feels he can control young players and cannot stand any older players pointing out another point of view. But no we have signed a bus load of young academy players and the majority just are not up to L2 standard. i know people will say what about the B team well unless some of them are fast learners we should ship them out at Christmas and get some players who know L2 and will safe guard our L2 existence. If we carry on playing and the results stay the same i don't think Betsy will make Christmas.

Lol How am I not able to handle anyone disagreeing with me? I'm not the one accusing anyone else of making accounts on here to get my point across, that would be you who is getting just a little bit paranoid, right? I've already answered your point about the Northampton injuries, do you really and truly think they are on a scale to ours? Try and be fair. I couldn't really follow the rest of the points you were making, only you seem to think the season starts and finishes in August? 42 games to go, so calm down or you'll do youself a mischief having a hernia over our league position now.
