the linesman got 1 decision right all game their penalty. The ref bottled it so the linesman had to step in
It was the worst ref display i have seen iN many years and we have had some very poor refs since being in league football, we showed good fight when we went down to 10 men but like Smith it seems we have another player off over Xmas with 3 massive games coming up which could make or break our season.
I thought the defence did pretty well it was the lightweight midfield and attack which held us back on Saturday but I am sure Cioffi will rally the team and get us motoring again
I thought Grego-Cox did ok as well, and you’re right, did brilliantly to put Dannie through, ball was bouncing around and he did so well to make something of it.
The last two appearances off the bench at home he's done well, think we should give him more of a chance.
With Ollie out, it should be Poleons big chance but as things stand our best option seems to be the likes of ANG & Pooch to carry the ball in central attacking areas with GC & LG supplying.. which means if anything is not played to feet it is soon mopped up.
The referee that day was Darren Deadman who has since been sacked by the FA, Saturdays ref was Craig Hicks who i hope never to see again.
he was the ref earlier this season when we beat Bury at home. Cant recall a ref with a red nose that day. Why did the circus come to town against Northants? Something doesnt add up.
I genuinely hope that the culprit is identified and banned. I personally find this utterly distasteful.
I think the best thing this individual could do would be to contact the club and put their hands up, apologise profusely and accept what is coming to them. The individual has so far not been identified, but I can tell you all with first hand experience that the clubs CCTV is pretty clear.
We can all get over excited at times, and I’m as guilty as any one for that, but launching items on to the pitch/at people just ain’t cricket.

Well said. Hopefully the culprit will have a conscience, and as he/she sees that the club have received contact from the FA, will feel duty bound to come forward and come clean. Assuming that he/she is a true supporter, then he/she will understand that it will be in the club’s interest to revolve the issue.

Trouble is it was probably some spineless tosser who couldn't care less if the club gets sanctioned, they'll keep quiet as long as ZE pays the fine and they don't have to take responsibility for their actions, let's not forget the likelihood that somebody saw them do it, will they point the finger though or will they consider 'loyalty' to their mate should mean letting the club swing?
I forgot the decision that made me most angry with the ref - one of the NTFC players went straight through the back of Camera while he was running hard and away - type of tackle that can lead to serious injury. Ref just waved play on. Think this was before all the mayhem and a clear sign the guy was not up to the job.
I saw the bottle hit home and ironically it hit the only one of the match officials to have a half-decent game!
