Anything I don't cover please ask the club on their Q&A page.

I found him intelligent, blunt & direct. He didn't evade questions"
I will give it to you straight Paul
Careful that you don't face a ban, like myself & others did... for having the sheer audacity to ask owner's contentious questions.... ...like... erm... "do you own our club"...?
Any of you watch the Q&A YouTube video? I haven't had time to yet as I'm going to Merstham game but be good to hear your thoughts. Only thing I've already heard so far is they will be sticking with John Yems as manager

Clearing all debts. Investing more money in the playing budget next season. The main real takeaways for me in the short term.
I'm hoping Yems will be able to add a couple of extra coaches to the backroom team in the summer too. Ideally at least one very experienced coach and one that's young and can bring fresh ideas
Sustainabilty is the key. If it's a choice between sustainability, or a meteoric rise followed by an existence-threatening slump, I would take sustainability any time - even if that were to mean yoyoing around in league 2 for years to come.

I would too, which is why I had no big problem with the steady Eren reign, but there is an American saying in the job market “up or out” - ie. get promoted or you move on, and you can’t help feeling that this applies here

Preston said they’re going to fix the hand dryer in the west stand.

Hopefully repair the holes in the toilet ceiling and update the posters on the east side of the south terrace too

You need to put all the right things in place behind the scenes in order to take your club up the divisions in a sustainable manner. Brentford and Brighton are two clubs that have done that very successfully over the last 10 years

I usually dry my hands on my trousers anyway, unless it's one of those souped-up airblade dryers.

Nothing concrete, key points. 1. You can send in your video audition to join the fans council. 2. John Yems has overachieved on the budget he had. 3. Goal is promotion in 2 years. 4. They have been working for months on how to improve the "staff roster" (I guess that means the playing squad). Expect a bigger budget next season. 5. They will be clearing some old debts. 6. Sam Gadsdon can nod non stop for 25 mins.

Lol, poor old Ziya - another of his achievements written out of history. Admittedly it’s a weedy old thing

Yes, I’ve just watched it and it was very encouraging
First off, Preston is a very personable fellow, seems very down to earth and spoke calmly about some potentially new, complicated ideas. Talk is cheap say the usual old critics. Ok but there was a couple of substantial points made.
Debts are due to be cleared very shortly, including debts that have been around a long while. That’s a very big step for the sustainability of the club.
Also Preston noted that as part of the ownership checks, proof was provided of funding to cover the expected losses in the seasons ahead. I think this is reassuring, as was the point that consultants have been hired to give Wagmi the UK football experience and expertise needed while they build it up in-house.
The comments on Yems were spot on. He has overachieved on his budget, him and Erdem overachieved on their recruitment but now we will have higher targets. He didn’t say precisely what the higher budget was and, in my view, I think this is smart. We need to go about our business signing new players without telling everyone money is falling out of our pockets, we need to strike good value for money deals still regardless of higher targets.
The democracy side of his comments I find refreshing. I’ve always hated the lord and serf model of ownership in English football where we as fans just have to quietly take it or leave it from the remote, all powerful owner. Any change to that culture will need thought and wide consultation. The fans council is a good start and the video applications a sign that they want to tap into the energy and positivity of more younger fans, not the old drones who have been making the same cynical points about the club on forums and social media since forever.
I really like he’s already picked up the jokey meme about the hand dryer and wants to encourage that kind of fan humour.
All in all, a useful exercise and I’m looking forward to what is to come more and more

Not sure you should be so cynical about “old drones” and be typecasting people like that. It works both ways. Younger fans are always moaning because they only know an instant gratification social media driven world where they can moan about everything as soon as it happens, even if it totally contradicts what they said only minutes earlier. The “old drones” you condemn remember a much better and much more balanced world which is a far better basis on which to try and run a football club and make sensible decisions. Furthermore, any cynical comments will have only been made at times when they were necessary, that is, when the running of the club has needed to be challenged.
