As usual, Thad is the fount of all knowledge and clever enough to draw our attention to the Turkish industry & currency situation and their implication on the affairs of our football club. Lets hope the connections remain Turkish and the fans don't become turkeys! btw, if my memory serves me correctly, this guy A. N. Other has applied for every single managerial vacancy that has ever existed, AND NEVER GOT THE JOB!
That's the trouble with Thad, despite some occasional mischievous stirring he does then let logical and intelligent arguments creep in to a football forum, which is definitely not the place for them!!

You guys... Of course only a mischievous stirrer & font of all knowledge would point out that Mark Warburton spent many years as a foreign exchange dealer & is therefore the only man qualified to fix all problem areas..(?)

Didn't he start with applying the statistical analysis when Brentford manager?

I believe that was the Chairman - who has a company specialising statistical analysis - he concluded rather weirdly that their actual position that season was a lot lower than the league table showed..(?) which ultimately meant a parting of ways with Warburton. Brentford play some great stuff but have never hit the same level since, although the Chairman may disagree & have a PowerPoint presentation that shows that their league position is all wrong.
There are some good names out there, but most are used to having money to spend. I think we need an austerity manager which is why i favour Yems. Look at some of the players he got us with nothing to spend, one was a young lad called Danny Bulman. He has lower level experience with Gillingham & Exeter as well as joining League 1 Bournemouth & being a big part of their amazing journey. Plus he knows what our club & fans are after, players who show a bit of pride.
i dont know why this obsession exists with Yems what exactly qualifies him for the role becuase i dont agree his job at Bournmouth does at all. Totally different role.
All this talk of austerity but I do not believe our budget is on a shoestring with some of the players we have signed?
Also I notice from Warren posting about Oldham game that there was talk at the game of a new man in on Monday, but was that just wild rumour or somebody in the know?
My austerity comment is less about income & more concerned with global economic events that inevitably impact our owners disposable wealth & spending priorities... ..Those players were signed before the punitive US tariffs on Turkish steel products - which have in term lead to currency & market chaos - were introduced.

So as well as being a threat to world peace (not to mention being a major tosser) Trump is also responsible for our lack of financial clout in the transfer markets? The more expensive of the signings were quite late in the window though, but maybe as I and others have suggested before rather than use the transfer fees to bid for new signings it is being used to finance the ongoing cost of the team? Nothing wrong with that in my eyes if true.
I am hoping its Dean Saunders. Nearly performed a miricale last time he was hear. Full of character and passsion and someone the players would respect and get behind.

What does Saunders actually do these days? he hasn't managed a side for nearly 3 years and his managerial record is a rather dodgy 111-73-111 for 37.63%, plus he lives in Cheshire ..... no thanks
With the sales of players in summer and compensation payments i reckon we cant be far off 400k having into the club.
Thats not far off a seasons gate takings for us.
I doubt we are flush but as you say Palmer Moralis Vincrlot Smith Peleon Connelly and Gambin will be on decent wages at this level.
I doubt we have anywhere near the smallest budget in our league.
I’m almost certain we will have one of the smallest budgets. We’ve actually had a good summer in terms of getting in some money from sales, but fact of the matter is we have lowest crowd in the league. By end of season we might overtake Morecambe on that front, but look at our bench on Saturday and most conference south benches would have as much or more experience surely? What happens if Palmer gets injured? We simply don’t have or can not afford the strength in depth of most of the squads in league 2. On the average attendance chart, Carlisle are 12th with average of 4,149. We have 2,062 and this will be reflected in the budgets.
